KSD Municipality’s Public Safety Department held a Medal Parade on Friday, 9 October 2026 at Jerald Raymond Hawkes Stadium (Mthatha Stadium) to recognise and honour Public Safety officers for their dedication, commitment and active participation in parades during official municipal events.

Parading plays an important role in promoting discipline, unity, professionalism and pride among officers. It also demonstrates the Municipality’s commitment to upholding protocol and maintaining a dignified presence during official functions. The officers’ participation, often under challenging and unfavourable weather conditions, reflects their dedication to duty and willingness to serve beyond the call of duty.

The awards were also presented to senior Public Safety officials in recognition of their contributions and commitment to the Department.

Through this token of appreciation, KSD Municipality acknowledges that every effort counts, whether big or small. The Municipality values the dedication, hard work and contributions of its officials and believes that recognising their efforts helps boost morale, encourage excellence and motivate them to continue serving the institution and its communities with pride and professionalism.

KSD Municipality extends its appreciation to all Public Safety officials for their continued commitment and valuable contribution to the Municipality.
