MIDVAAL STEPS UP WAR ON POTHOLES, REPAIRING OVER 4500 POTHOLES IN SEPTEMBER

1 min read39 views

Midvaal’s War on Potholes campaign continues across the municipality, with even greater progress made in September to improve the condition of our road infrastructure.

The Municipality repaired a total of 4,524 potholes in September.

This is a significant improvement from August, when 2,900 potholes were repaired. It means that 1,624 more potholes were repaired in September, representing a 56% increase in one month.

Municipal teams also cleared 3,561 square metres of stormwater infrastructure and 2,904 square metres of weeds.

Work was also carried out on 28 gravel roads, with 15 kilometres of roads regravelled.

Our teams are also cutting down obstructive trees, trimming vegetation, replacing road signs and painting road markings.

The progress we are making is a reflection of the Municipality’s commitment to maintaining our infrastructure and responding to the issues that affect residents on a daily basis.

Midvaal will continue working to ensure that Midvaal’s roads are safe, well-maintained and kept to the standard that our residents deserve.
