FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – 3 JANUARY 2026
The Cape Agulhas Municipality confirms that a fatal collision occurred on 3 January 2026 involving a municipal vehicle from the Public Safety Department and a motorcycle in Marine Drive, Struisbaai.
The motorcyclist, Mr Juaen Odendal, tragically passed away at the scene. Two municipal staff members sustained minor injuries and received medical attention.
The Municipality extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Mr Odendal. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time, and we acknowledge the deep loss experienced by those affected by this tragic incident.
A case has been opened with the South African Police Service (SAPS), and an internal investigation is being conducted in line with municipal procedures.
