Public Notice: Temporary Suspension of Waste Collection in Wesselton
20 August 2026, We regret to inform residents of Phumula, Extension 2, Madamini, Thembisa, Mine, and Cwebezela that waste collection services in your areas have been temporarily suspended due to unforeseen truck breakdowns.
Our waste collection fleet is currently experiencing mechanical failures, which has rendered us unable to collect refuse from the aforementioned neighborhoods.
Our technical teams are working diligently to repair the vehicles, and we anticipate that the trucks will be operational again over the weekend.
Until further notice, all residents in the affected areas are kindly requested to: • Keep all refuse and waste materials in their yards or designated storage areas on their property • Do not place waste bins or bags at the roadside for collection until normal services resume • Ensure waste is stored securely to prevent scattering by wind or animals
We will notify the community as soon as the trucks are back in service and waste collection resumes.
Updates will be communicated through our usual channels.
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and any disruption this may cause to your daily routines.
We understand the importance of regular waste collection and are doing everything possible to restore normal services as quickly as possible.
