CITY OF EKURHULENI SHOWCASES TOURISM AND INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT AFRICA’S TRAVEL INDABA 2026

The City of Ekurhuleni is participating in the Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026 currently held at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban from 11 May to 14 May 2026.

The City of Ekurhuleni, as Africa’s Aerotropolis and home to O.R. Tambo International Airport, is taking its place on the global stage as one of the key exhibitors at the Indaba, and continues to position itself as a premier destination for tourism, business events, and investment.

Member of the Mayoral Committee for Corporate and Shared Services, Cllr Siphumule Ntombela provided an overview of what the city offers, highlighting Ekurhuleni’s strategic location and world-class tourism infrastructure.

“We are proudly showcasing Ekurhuleni as Africa’s Aerotropolis – the gateway to the continent and a leading destination for tourism, including meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Our strategic location, world-class convention facilities, award-winning hotels, prestigious golf courses, and excellent transport connectivity make our city an ideal destination for both business and leisure travellers,” said MMC Ntombela.

He further emphasised that Ekurhuleni is more than a business destination, offering visitors the opportunity to experience a rich lifestyle and leisure environment beyond conferences and meetings.

Highlighting the importance of participating in Africa’s Travel Indaba, MMC Ntombela said the exhibition provides the city with a valuable opportunity to market Ekurhuleni internationally and attract both tourism and investment.
