CITY’S ENVIRONMENT AND WASTE FRONTLINERS TAKE ACTION FOR A CLEANER EKURHULENI

2 min read5 views

The City’s Environment and Waste frontline teams are out in full force, rolling up their sleeves and taking action across multiple communities- with one mission- To restore cleanliness, protect public health, and keep Ekurhuleni looking its best.

Operations are currently underway across the City to ensure a clean and a healthy environment. This initiative forms part of the City’s ongoing “Fixing the Frontline” programme, aimed at improving service delivery where it matters most — in our communities.

Frontline workers are focusing on intensive litter picking and waste collection to tackle illegal dumping and prevent the spread of diseases linked to unhealthy environments. A clean community is not just about appearance — it’s about safeguarding the health and well-being of every resident.

Residents are encouraged to play their part in keeping Ekurhuleni clean. Avoid littering, make use of the waste bins provided, and report any illegal dumping in your area. Working together, we can make a real difference.

Households are also reminded of the importance of sorting waste to ensure safe and efficient collection. Every household should have a 240-litre bin for proper waste disposal. If your waste exceeds this capacity, please visit your nearest Customer Care Centre to arrange for an additional bin — helping to prevent waste from being left outside and scattered.

Let’s work together to build a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Ekurhuleni — because a clean city starts with all of us.
