The 2026 Sasol New Signatures Visual Arts exhibition is now open to the public at the Pretoria Art Museum, showcasing the work of emerging South African visual artists.
The annual competition provides a platform for emerging artists to present their work and gain exposure in the South African visual arts sector. This year, 938 works were submitted at eight collection points across the country, with 123 works selected for the final round of judging for inclusion in the exhibition.
The exhibition features a diverse range of artworks, including sculpture, mixed media, painting, photography and installations. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the creativity and perspectives of some of South Africa's emerging artists.
Alongside the 2026 Sasol New Signatures Visual Arts exhibition is Die Vallei van Adem , a solo exhibition by 2025 competition winner Juandré van Eck. The exhibition features ceramic sound vessels that invite visitors to interact with the artworks and experience the sounds created by the movement of air and water.
The exhibition is taking place at the Pretoria Art Museum from 10 September to 8 November 2026.
