The City of Tshwane's customers who are supplied by the Waterkloof Ext 2 Reservoir are likely to experience reduced water pressure or possible water supply interruptions as the reservoir levels continue to decline.

The decline in levels is due to damage to the 200 mm pipeline supplying the reservoir, resulting in a leak beneath a concrete slab.

The City's technical teams are currently awaiting the arrival of a concrete breaker on site to enable them to break through the concrete slab, expose the damaged section of the pipeline and undertake the necessary repairs.

At this stage, the City is unable to provide an estimated time for completion of the repairs, as the full extent of the damage will only be fully assessed once the pipeline has been exposed.

The following areas might be affected:

Residents are urged to use water sparingly while repair work is underway to preserve the remaining reservoir storage.

  • Waterkloof 378 JR
  • Waterkloof 428JR
  • Waterkloof Ridge Ext 2 and 12
