I am thrilled as an Executive Mayor to witness our grade 12 learners continuing to climb the ladder of success as matric results for class of 2025 continue improving. I am very proud of all my children across our municipality for putting in the hard work to achieve this success. I am equally proud of the commitment the educators continuously display through the extra lessons and study camps that are organised throughout the year. May this spirit of dedication to our learners gain more strength as we seek to climb higher aiming for 100% pass rate in Ekurhuleni. All districts nationwide have been confirmed to have attained above 80% pass rate.
I wish all those who passed to enjoy their future endevours. May they continue pushing harder in life to make their adult selves a great success and in turn plough back into the municipality’s growth. To all those learners who did not attain what they had hoped for, do not be deterred from your dreams. This is just a very temporary setback; you just need to get up and forge ahead with your dreams because they are still very valid and possible. Government has various opportunities available to improve where you have not done well. I urge everyone to seek out those available avenues, not waste time and jump back on their journey to success.
In a few weeks we will be honouring all our top achievers in Ekurhuleni through our excellence awards as we bid all of them farewell into their next chapter in life, institutions of higher learning.
Congratulations matric class of 2025.
