The King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality’s Community Services Department in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) and other key stakeholders, successfully hosted Climate Change Response Strategy Implementation Plan Workshop at the Council Chambers.
The 2-day workshop held on 15-16 July 2026, forms part of the Municipality’s ongoing commitment to building climate resilience and ensuring that climate change is integrated into Municipal planning, policy development and service delivery.
The purpose of the workshop is to develop a practical and coordinated Climate Change Response Strategy Implementation Plan that will strengthen the Municipality’s capacity to respond to climate-related risks, protect vulnerable communities and promote sustainable development.
The engagement brought together government departments and stakeholders to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships and refine strategies aimed at addressing the impacts of climate change. Discussions focused on identifying local climate risks, exploring adaptation and mitigation measures and outlining practical actions that will guide the Municipality’s response to current and future climate challenges.
