King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Social Development, today joined the residents and management of Empilweni Old Age Home in honouring and celebrating older persons for their lifelong contributions to the growth and development of our communities.
The programme reflected the spirit of Nelson Mandela’s legacy by promoting compassion, dignity and service to others while recognising the invaluable role of older persons in shaping society.
As part of the event, the Department of Social Development handed over wheelchairs and blankets to support the well-being of the residents, while FNB donated diapers to assist in the care of the elderly.
