KSD Executive Mayor Councillor Mkhanyiseli Dudumayo has met TREDA Chief Executive Officer Ms Tengile at KSD Municipality offices in Mqanduli on Wednesday, 23 September 2026 with a clear purpose of establishing partnership with KSD Municipality.

The partnership between KSD Municipality and Township and Rural Economic Development Agency (TREDA) will be critical important in economic development of the Municipality and would benefit in the following:
The partnership is structured around five strategic programmes:
1. KSD SMME Growth Programme
Identify, profile and classify KSD businesses into emerging, established and growth enterprises, followed by targeted mentorship and market support.
2. Mthatha Township Economy Programme
Focus on spaza shops, informal traders, restaurants, mechanics, salons, manufacturers, creative businesses, transport-related enterprises and other township businesses.
3. Rural Enterprise Programme
Link farmers and cooperatives to markets, finance, processing, packaging and value chains — particularly wool, livestock, vegetables, cannabis, fisheries and agro-processing.
4. KSD Investment and Enterprise Compact
Use a joint platform to bring together KSD Municipality, TREDA, private sector, financial institutions, government departments and investors around specific investment-ready projects.
