RESIGNATION OF COUNCILLORS
Councillor Renier Louw, Ward Councillor for Ward 3, and Councillor Janine August-Marthinus, Ward Councillor for Ward 6, tendered their resignations as Councillors of Cape Agulhas Municipality with effect from 1 June 2026.
Both Councillors have served their respective communities and the Municipality since November 2021. The Municipality extends its sincere appreciation for their commitment, contribution and service during their term of office, and wishes them well in their future endeavours.
In terms of section 25(6) of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, 1998 (Act 117 of 1998), no by-elections will be held to fill these vacancies, as the next local government elections are scheduled for 4 November 2026. The vacant ward seats will remain unfilled until the election of a new Municipal Council.

BEDANKING VAN RAADSLEDE
Raadslid Renier Louw, wyksraadslid van Wyk 3, en Raadslid Janine August-Marthinus, wyksraadslid van Wyk 6, het hul bedankings as raadslede van Kaap Agulhas Munisipaliteit ingedien met ingang van 1 Junie 2026.
Albei raadslede het sedert November 2021 hul onderskeie gemeenskappe en die Munisipaliteit gedien. Die Munisipaliteit spreek sy opregte waardering uit vir hul toewyding, bydrae en diens gedurende hul ampstermyn, en wens hulle sterkte toe met hul toekomstige ondernemings.
Ingevolge artikel 25(6) van die Wet op Plaaslike Regering: Munisipale Strukture, 1998 (Wet 117 van 1998), sal geen tussenverkiesings gehou word om hierdie vakatures te vul nie, aangesien die volgende plaaslike regeringsverkiesings vir 4 November 2026 geskeduleer is. Die vakante wyksraadslid possies sal vakant bly totdat ’n nuwe Munisipale Raad verkies is.
