Member of the Mayoral Committee for Roads and Transport, Cllr Lindiwe Mnguni, participated at the two-day ACSA Transport Indaba at the O.R Tambo international Airport today, 30 March 2026. MMC Mnguni praised the collaborative efforts amongst all transport stakeholders to bring about a reliable, innovative and inclusive public transport for all commuters.

This year’s edition of the Transport Indaba is convened under the theme: ‘Innovate, Inclusivity and Sustain – Moving Airport Public Transport Forward’.

The City of Ekurhuleni as the host of the O.R Tambo International Airport, Africa’s busiest airport and a gateway to the African continent, is an important stakeholder in the transport sector. The city’s bus rapid transit service also connects to the airport precinct, providing seamless and well-coordinated travel to commuters.

MMC Mnguni urged the Transport Indaba to find ways of collaboratively providing a safe, reliable and cost-effective public transport, and told the audience that the extension of the city’s Harambee bus service will integrate and collaborate with transport stakeholders such as the Gautrain.

Furthermore, the city will continue the good relations with the taxi industry.
